15 Must-Haves to Keep You Warm and Stylish in Winter

Posted by Lizzey Davey (UK Guest Blogger) for Copper River Bag Company on 7th Nov 2015

The nights are drawing in and winter is almost here somehow, which means it’s time to turn our attention to keeping warm and staying stylish during the cooler months.

Whatever your plans are for this winter, make sure you’re prepared with gadgets and fashion that’ll keep you warm, and plenty of things to keep you busy during the dark nights and cold days. I’m particularly looking forward to crisp weekend walks, curling up by open fires, enjoying good food, getting lots of work, and reading done without the distractions that summer brings.

Here are some of my must-haves for this winter!

    Travel Wrap

I’m a big fan of cosy wraps at this time of year, simply because they’re so versatile and warm. You can pair them with jeans for a casual look, or wear them with black tights for a more formal affair. They’re also great for travelling in, too, acting as both a blanket and a snuggly jumper. I love this green one from The Travel Wrap Company.

    Leather Backpack

Winter hikes are one of my favourite activities when the weather’s crisp and there’s a chill in the air. I like to be prepared, though, and can easily whack all of my stuff into this red leather backpack.

    Suede Sheepskin Boots

And to keep my feet warm on these long winter hikes, I plan on wearing a comfy pair of suede sheepskin boots. The fluffy insides keep your feet warm, whilst the on-trend suede keeps you looking fashionable. I particularly like these beige ones from H&M.

    Chunky Knit Cushion

Winter’s the season for spending a lot of time inside, right? Curled up by the fire with a good book and a cup of tea. These chunky knit cushions are perfect for relaxing on whilst adding a vibrant pop of colour to your lounge – a great contrast to the grey skies outside!

    Reindeer Card Holder

Okay, it’s not quite Christmas yet, but reindeers are creatures of the winter so these cute wire card holders add a Nordic-style touch to any wall. Plus, when the cards finally do start rolling in, you instantly have somewhere to display them!

    Big Cosy Armchair

I don’t know about you, but I get through way more books in winter than I do in any other season. There’s nothing I like more than escaping into a good read with a hot drink whilst the rain beats down outside. It helps if you have a big cosy armchair like this one to curl up in.

    Chrome Hand Warmer

Cold hands are a consistent occurrence in winter, meaning everything you do is slower and slightly more painful. However, with this stylish chrome hand warmer from Zippo, you can banish the hand-shivers in no time at all (and get back to doing things at a normal speed!).

    Touchscreen Gloves

Following on from the hand-freeze, these touchscreen gloves mean you don’t have to expose your hands when you want to text or make a phone call. The fingertips are made with a unique conductive fiber, which lets you carry on using your phone when you’re wrapped up warm.

    Ear Warmer Headphones

If you’re an avid music fan, you’ll love these headphones that warm your ears at the same time. Their fleece lining and outer shell mean you can enjoy your favourite winter tunes whilst keeping the frosty chill at bay. There’s also a hands-free microphone that’s built in, so you can make calls with warm ears.

    Leather iPhone Case

I’m a big fan of leather this winter, and I’m also a big fan of keeping my phone dry and warm when I’m out and about! Making sure it’s tucked away nicely in this beautiful Buffalo leather iPhone case means I don’t have to worry about it breaking in my bag.

    Vintage Floor Lamp

You might have realized by now that winter is a cosy time for me, where reading is the name of the game, and I can spend afternoons tucked away inside writing notes and getting work done. This awesome vintage floor lamp certainly helps with that! It’s old-school industrial design is really unique, whilst its adjustable stem makes it the perfect reading lamp.

    Bright Striped Bath Robe

Baths are typically a winter activity, too, where you can kick back and relax after a day spent in the chilly outdoors. Wrap up afterwards in this amazing striped bathrobe for a stylish way to pad around the house and keep warm.

    Bright Taper Candles

Candles set off the ambiance in winter. When it’s dark outside you can light a few for a cosy glow whilst you work, read, or watch television. This year I’m loving bright tapered candles for a vibrant, eclectic take on the whole candle craze.

    Leather Pocket Notebook

Ideas often come to me when I’m out and about (usually at the most inopportune moments!), so I like to be prepared when inspiration hits. I always, always carry a pocket notebook around with me, like this luxurious red leather one.

    Travel Games

I’m a huge fan of traditional board games, and winter is the perfect time to crack them out with a group of friends all huddled around the fire. Travel games are perfect, like this leather tic-tac-toe set, because you can take them everywhere with you in case you need to escape the rain or keep yourself entertained in the warmth of a pub.

So now that we have our list of 15 must-haves for this winter season, it's time to cuddle up next to the fire with these useful products that also make some great gifts for this upcoming holiday season. Stay warm out there friends!
